What we collect, why, and what we do not do with it. We collect what renting you a car requires, and handle it as the Personal Data Protection Act 2012 (PDPA) requires.
Last updated November 2026 (draft)
What we collect
When you book, and during your rental, we collect:
- Contact details: your name, email address and phone number, and an account password stored only as a hash if you create an account.
- Your booking: the car, dates, delivery and collection addresses, flight details for Changi handovers, any accessibility needs you tell us about, and company billing details if you add them.
- Driver details: date of birth, the country and class of each driver's licence, how long it has been held and whether an International Driving Permit is carried. If you give your licence number, we only use it to check the do-not-rent list, as a one-way fingerprint; the number itself is not kept.
- Identity checks at the door: our driver checks your licence and your NRIC, FIN or passport in person and records the details Singapore law requires us to keep for everyone who drives our cars, such as name, ID number and licence number.
- Handover records: the photo walk-around, fuel or charge level, odometer reading and your e-signature at delivery and collection, and the photos and location you submit for an unattended return.
- Telematics and dashcam: each car's location, speed and driving events from its telematics unit, and dashcam footage from inside and around the car.
- Payment: the payment method and reference. Card payments are handled by our payment provider; we do not see or store your full card number.
Why we use it
To confirm and run your rental: to check that each driver may drive, to deliver and collect the car, to handle fines, accidents, damage claims and refunds, and to contact you about your trip. Telematics and dashcam footage are used to check how the car is driven under the rental policies, to find the car, and to establish what happened after an accident or a claim.
We send trip messages by email, and by WhatsApp where you agree to it. If you ask us to, we send one reminder about a booking you did not finish. We do not send marketing, we do not sell your data, and we do not use it for advertising.
Who sees it
Our staff see what they need for their part of your rental: your delivery driver sees your name, address, contact number and the driver details for the handover. Our insurer sees what it needs to handle a claim. The authorities, such as the Traffic Police and the Land Transport Authority, receive driver details when the law requires it, for example when a fine is transferred to the driver. Service providers that run our payments, messaging, maps and servers process data on our instructions.
How long we keep it
We keep your data for as long as it is needed for the rental, and for any fines and claims that can arise from it afterwards. We are setting a fixed retention schedule for each kind of record, including identity details and dashcam footage, and will publish it here.
Cookies
We set two cookies, both needed for the site to work: one keeps you signed in, and one lets you manage a booking for 12 hours after you have entered its code and email. We do not run analytics or advertising trackers. The Cookie preferences page has the details.
Your choices
Under the PDPA you can ask what personal data we hold about you and how it has been used in the past year, ask us to correct it, and withdraw your consent. Withdrawing consent may mean we cannot rent you a car, and we keep what the law requires us to keep for past rentals. You can also edit your name and phone number under Account at any time.
Data protection officer
Our data protection officer answers every request and question about your personal data, usually within 30 days. Their contact details will be published here before launch. If a data breach is likely to harm you, we tell you and the Personal Data Protection Commission, as the PDPA requires.
